Watch Angelina Jolie in the new Mon Guerlain perfume ad
Actor and humanitarian, Angelina Jolie, is the face of the new Mon Guerlain, the latest perfume from the iconic French fragrance house.
At the beginning of the year, Guerlain announced that the brand’s latest fragrance, Mon Guerlain, would feature actor and humanitarian Angelina Jolie. Fresh off of her divorce announcement last year, and alongside her latest film effort, First They Killed My Father, which she directed, the video for the perfume has been released.
“We create perfumes for the women we admire,” Jacques Guerlain was reported as saying.
And on that note, Guerlain stated that Jolie has committed her fee for the campaign to charity.
But about the Mon Guerlain film…
First off, it’s stunning. A French countryside, fresh ingredients, a handsome perfumer and Jolie herself—looking amazing—all feature in the ad. We’re thinking it’s meant to convey sensuality, joie de vivre and classic beauty. But we’d be lying if we didn’t also mention that it incites a bit of envy—can we be there, please?
But no wonder the short film is stunning—it was directed by Terrence Malick.
Malick, known for works such as The Tree of Life, To the Wonder and the upcoming Song to Song, used his dreamy style of filming for the Guerlain spot to great effect.
The Mon Guerlain fragrance
The notes of this Jolie-endorsed new Guerlain perfume are classic: vanilla, lavender, bergamot, iris, jasmine. Expect subtle sweetness with bright white florals playing the starring role. Created by Guerlain in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser, with Delphine Jelk, this scent—which is set for release this month—aims to embody femininity but in a most modern way.
