Here’s what you’re competing for in today’s Fragrance Giveaway: Valentino Valentina Oud Assoluto EDP

As the air cools and some of us tuck our lighter toilettes away for the winter, Valentino launches its latest fragrance under the Valentina pillar: Valentina Oud Assoluto.

The scent, created by the nose and mind of perfumer Olivier Cresp, delivers a spicy woodiness upon first spritz, but dries to a powdery floral, and in so doing pays olfactory homage to the original floriental Valentina, launched in 2011. Top notes of orange blossom and sharp cardamom; a heart of oud, Bulgarian rose and leather; and a base of saffron, vanilla and woody notes blend together for an effect that’s elegant with a bit of edge.

This almost masculine leathery floral is a sexy scent with subtle spice that doesn’t compromise the brand’s hallmark femininity.

Her long-held love of fragrance led her to launch The Whale & The Rose, a destination for all things perfume-related. Now, when she indulges in a crazy-expensive bottle of fragrance, she can do so guilt-free. Well almost. It’s all in the name of research after all.
