UNDER-$50 FRIDAY: LUSH SOLID PERFUMES

UNDER-$50 FRIDAY: LUSH SOLID PERFUMES

Dating all the way back to ancient Egypt, it’s due time that solid perfumes made a comeback, if only because of their modern-minded portability.

LUSH, creators of all things handmade and unconventional—not to mention natural—in the beauty and bath department offers up its solid-formula, Gorilla perfumes in on-the-go, 12-gram sizes. They’re layering capabilities and can’t-stop-at-just-one enabling ticket price make them great candidates for our Under-$50 Friday spotlight. And with more than half of the scents in the Lush Gorilla repertoire being vegan-friendly, they’re a happy fix for all.

Lust: All jasmine, all the time. Well, maybe not all the time, but jasmine was the inspiration for this fragrance and one of the main notes mixed with ylang-ylang, rose, vanilla and sandalwood. Not to worry, it’s not a love—or lust—potion, so it won’t make you fall for anything but the fragrance itself.

Karma: Patchouli, sweet orange, pine, lavendin, elemi and lemongrass come together to make a spicy, but zesty fragrance. Good karmic retribution not guaranteed.

Cocktail: This combo of ylang-ylang, jasmine, orange blossom, oakmoss, sandalwood, and rose—more of a mocktail than a cocktail—is meant to inspire confidence without the need for the liquid courage.

Ginger: Perfect for this autumn time of year with ginger essential oils in combination with mimosa, geranium, rose, ylang-ylang, and jasmine absolutes. A pinch of juniper is the sweet counterpoint to the scent’s spicy namesake root.

Orange Blossom: Orange blossom, neroli, ylang-ylang, sandalwood and beeswax make up this sweet, fresh and citrusy fragrance—great to perk up a rainy, humdrum day or to save for sunny summer ones.
