UNDER-$50 FRIDAY: BENEFIT SASHA OF CRESCENT ROW

Did Sophia knock you out? Girl crush on Bella? Perhaps you’ve got all of the women of Crescent Row waiting for a night out.

Well, make room for Sasha. Or rather “See and Be Seen Sasha.” The latest addition to the cheekily packaged Benefit fragrance lineup—each scent comes in a different, illustrated cocktail shaker-inspired bottle—is a bright, sunny floral with a warm sultry-skin-like base of amber, white musk and vanilla. She’s voluptuous, pretty and spirited. Like her girlfriends, she’s a fun date; a great night out.

As fragrances go, Sasha and the girls—Eva, Lee Lee, Rita, Gina, Bella, Carmella and Sofia—argue that style doesn’t require a big fat pocketbook. At $42 each, the scents offer character and versatility. (With change left for a lychee martini.) In fact, our local drugstore-beauty-counter mole says she’s chatted with many a customer about how one can layer these Benefit scents to achieve smell-alike results akin to A-list fragrances such as Angel.Just saying.

So lots of options for $42 each. Definitely worth flirting with.

Her long-held love of fragrance led her to launch The Whale & The Rose, a destination for all things perfume-related. Now, when she indulges in a crazy-expensive bottle of fragrance, she can do so guilt-free. Well almost. It’s all in the name of research after all.
