Not only did we find out today that Johnny Depp…
Two fantasies of Britney Spears
A girl can change her mind: That’s always been the feminine prerogative. The X Factor judge and pop princess Britney Spears takes the saying to heart with her latest Fantasy Twist two-in-one fragrance launch. The bottle allows a fickle fragrance-loving mind to choose between a pair of the singer’s best-selling perfumes, Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy. The clever flask, half pink and half blue—fyi, two of the startlet’s fave colours—pulls apart, allowing consumers to choose their desired spritz.
Choose pink and get sweet and fruity Fantasy. Top notes of lychee, quince, and kiwi mingle with a cupcake accord, jasmine and white-chocolate orchid; while orris root, musk and wood leave a sensual trail.
Opt for blue and find warm floral Midnight Fantasy. This scent starts off with a fruity blend of black cherries, raspberries, and plum. The heart is a bouquet of orchid and freesia; the base a mix of patchouli, vanilla and amber.
The accompanying FantasyTwist commercial, produced by fashion and celebrity photographer and director Ellen Von Unwerth, has also been creating buzz. In the video, Spears plays a master of disguises, channeling Cleopatra in a gold beaded and sheer gown. Then we see her as a sexy Jean Harlow flapper girl, followed by a seductive gothic dominatrix with a short black Clara Bow-style wig.
Some critics say that the video is a blast from the past, resembling the star’s 2007 music video “Gimme More” from her Blackout album. In that music video, Spears also role-plays as a blond and then a seductive brunette. Whether the singer is treading old ground or not, pulling inspiration from a lead single that peaked to number three on the U.S. Billboard Top 100 list and topped the Canadian charts, doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
