Suzi Weiss-Fischmann of OPI

On her recent trip into Toronto, we had the occasion to sit down and lunch with the charming and down-to-earth Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Executive VP & Artistic Director for OPI. We talked about nail polish—“I love red, but I’ll wear any thing”—family and food. And fragrance too of course. So, we had to ask:

Favourite fragrance: En Passant by Frederic Malle.

How long have you worn it?: Probably three years.

Why do you love it?: “I can wear it all day and it’s not overpowering. I still feel sexy, day or night.”

Frederic Malle En Passant: In this fragrance, perfumer Olivia Giacobetti captures the essence of white lilac in the fresh spring air, marrying it with watery notes, orange-tree leaves, cucumber and the scent of wheat. EDP $150 (50 ml), www.fredericmalle.com

Deborah Fulsang has spent the last two decades as a journalist covering news and trends in the worlds of style—in fashion and beauty, design and décor, food and entertaining. Her long-held love of fragrance led her to launch The Whale & The Rose, a destination for all things perfume-related. Now, when she indulges in a crazy-expensive bottle of fragrance, she can do so guilt-free. Well almost. It’s all in the name of research after all.
