Roberto Cavalli Parfum For Her

Roberto Cavalli Parfum For Her

“I have a woman in mind when I design: she is a positive person, cheerful, joyful and confident, has glamour in her veins, is a master of her own destiny,” says Roberto Cavalli.

Confidence, chutzpah, personality: these are hallmarks of the Roberto Cavalli brand and they come across loud and clear in the sexy commercial for the designer’s newest female fragrance.

The flowing, low-cut dress, the animal prints, the golden glowing skin: these too are signature Cavalli elements—and we’ve seen them so often on two of his most famous postergirls, Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen. They’re also starring details of the new commercial. (The Italian designer has also dressed many other modern-day stars, from Jennifer Lopez to Christina Aguilera. It must be noted that he does sexy very, very well.)

In the commercial, directed by Johan Renck, actress Elisa Sednaoui–with a magnificent tiger by her side—personifies the strong, sultry, almost-Eighties essence of the fragrance: a bold amber floral with a heart of orange blossom and base of Tonka bean.

This is not a fragrance for wallflowers, but then we’ve always loved Cavalli’s passion for character and his over-the-top, leopard-print-wearing, goddess-like muse. “I love women who are independent and free, strong-willed and stubborn,” he has said. “A strong personality is the sexiest thing to me.”

Watch the commercial: INSPIRATION.

Deborah Fulsang has spent the last two decades as a journalist covering news and trends in the worlds of style—in fashion and beauty, design and décor, food and entertaining. Her long-held love of fragrance led her to launch The Whale & The Rose, a destination for all things perfume-related. Now, when she indulges in a crazy-expensive bottle of fragrance, she can do so guilt-free. Well almost. It’s all in the name of research after all.
