Liv Judd Soye shares her idea of a perfectly perfumed holiday
How does your holiday smell? What what do you wish for under the tree? We asked style expert Liv Judd Soye for her faves.
What holiday scent do you love most?
During the holidays I like my home to smell inviting and outdoorsy, cozy and nostalgic—either like a freshly cut pine tree or a burning fireplace. I’m head-over-heels in love with Nest Fragrances, and their holiday trio of candles is beautiful, exactly what the holiday should smell like. I plan on having the Hearth scent burning near the front door, the Holiday scent in the kitchen and the Pine scent right next to the Christmas tree. I like to move through rooms and smell something a bit different.

What fragrance would you love to find under the tree this Christmas and why?
Les Exclusifs de Chanel Beige Chanel. Its such an breathtakingly elegant scent, and I’m a sucker for all white floral. Besides, who doesn’t love to see a little Chanel under the tree?

What is the best perfume gift you’ve ever received and why?
This is tough! I think the most interesting story at the moment is Guerlain My Insolence. I can’t remember who I received it from, but my 4-year-old daughter, Malin, has stolen it and claimed it for her own. She has been obsessed with the scent since before she was 2 and will only wear that fragrance. When she was little she would line up all my fragrances, smell each one carefully and would always ask to wear that one. She calls it her watermelon fragrance (the shape of the bottle, I suppose). So I could say that it’s been the best fragrance I have ever received that has been passed down a generation. Now whenever I smell that fragrance in a department store or on another person, my daughter’s face comes to mind.

What scent would you love to gift your sweetheart this holiday and why?
I would give my husband L’Artisan Patchouli Patch. Its such an incredibly sexy male scent. If he walks past wearing that scent, I just melt.
