Lily-Rose Depp is the new face of Chanel No. 5 L’Eau
Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, is the latest Chanel muse—so it makes sense she’ll be fronting the new No. 5 L’Eau campaign.
Looks like we have another Chanel fragrance to look forward to later this year. As we sit in anticipation for Chanel Boy, we’re also going to be pining for Chanel No. 5 L’Eau—a new take on the perennial classic.
The scent—Chanel No. 5 L’Eau
Chanel’s in-house perfume, Olivier Polge, will introduce his version of the world’s most famous scent in the fall. The original (created by Gabrielle Chanel and Ernest Beaux and released in 1921), is familiar to all those who know it—but it’s getting a fresh update thanks to Polge. Most of the ingredients are kept the same, though the ylang-ylang was put through a unique distillation process that Polge says makes it crisper and greener, and notable is the addition of cedarwood in the base.
Expect to shop the scent in the fall of 2016.
Lily-Rose Depp, the face of the next Chanel generation
Though most of us know her as the daughter of actor Johnny Depp and model Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp is about to make her splash on the big screen with three films scheduled for release in the next year. The 16-year-old is no stranger to Chanel—she’s been spotted at most of the fashion house’s shows the past couple of years. So it makes sense that the new generation of Chanel girl (Depp’s mother was a Coco Noir muse back in the day) would be the face of the new generation of No. 5.
