Celebrate International Fragrance Day with a few favourites
In honour of International Fragrance Day, we asked a few of our perfume-minded friends to dish on their all-time favourites.
For us, every day is International Fragrance Day. But since the rest of the world has decided that we should celebrate on March 21, 2017, who are we to say no? To celebrate, we asked a couple of perfume pros—Simon Tooley of Etiket and Heather Josey of The Bay—to share their top three scents. We’re lucky that Simon and Heather have different tastes—there’s something for everyone. Which, if you think about it, is kind of the beauty of scent. It doesn’t discriminate based on size or shape or wealth (there are plenty of affordable brands), and if you take a little time to look, you can find something you truly love.

Imaginary Authors Slow Explosions
Each Imaginary Authors perfume is inspired by a novel. Slow Explosions, which was launched in 2016, draws its inspiration directly from a trip to Goa in India. Note the notes of rose and leather through the aromas of the famous Market in Arpora. $48 (14 ml)
Penhaligon’s Clandestine Clara
Clandestine Clara (the unofficial side of Lord George’s dynasty) is a complex creature that will charm you with its notes of rhum vanilla, cinnamon musk and ambery patchouli. Clara was rebellious, contradictory, independent, unconventional—a woman ahead of her time. But above all, as you will discover, she was a true gourmand, completely delectable. Just like this fragrance. $305 (75 ml)
FRANK No.01
An uncompromising blend of crisp citrus, fresh spices and herbaceous, mossy green notes, No. 1 veers away from tradition by supplementing that classic masculine structure with the strength of another iconic gentleman’s genre: dry tobacco and deep, ambery leather, which transforms the bright, refreshing opening into a drydown loaded with complex, seductive warmth. Provocative and modern. $150 (100 ml)

Guerlain Mon Guerlain
An undeniably beautiful scent. It is created by the House of Guerlain’s master Parfumer and comes from a brand rich with history. Mon Guerlain is a fragrance that’s celebrating the current day woman. $168 (100 ml)
Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina in Fiore
Undisputedly feminine and perfect for every day with its fruity and floral scent. This fragrance celebrates the freedom of a European adventure of falling in love. $117 (100 ml)
Givenchy Live Irresistible Delicieuse
Fun, vivacious, sweet and flirty. The cherry almond of this fragrance makes it deliciously gourmand! $107 (75 ml)
