Fruity

The Whale & The Rose defines fragrances according to one or more of nine fragrance families: Aromatic, Citrus, Floral, Fresh, Fruity, Gourmand, Green, Oriental and Woody. A Fruity fragrance contains fruit notes, such as raspberry, strawberry, peach, mango and apple. These notes, in part or as a combination, define the character of the perfume. Some notable fruity fragrances include Guerlain Petit Robe Noire, DKNY Be Delicious and Nina Ricci Le Tentation. Increasingly, there is overlap between the families of scent. Many modern-day perfumes, for example may contain ingredients or notes that allow them to be classified within more than one fragrance family: For instance, there are aromatic-citrus scents, fresh-woody toilettes, fruity-floral perfumes. A fruity scent can be a floral-fruity, so it combines floral notes of rose and jasmine with raspberry, peach, currant; or imagine a fruity-citrus, with fruit notes combined with bergamot and orange.
