Banana Republic Wildblue for him

Banana Republic Wildblue for him

Like a woman in a little black dress and simple black sling-backs, a man in a sky-blue collared shirt (and chinos or jeans) always seems to be well put together. He’s a classicist but with energy and joie de vivre, too. Even better if it’s the end of the day and said shirt is a tiny bit wrinkled and softened with wear. And it smells, ever-so-slightly, of the gentleman’s fragrance and skin that’s been worn into its fabric by the 9-to-5 of living.

Banana Republic’s new Wildblue men’s scent epitomizes the appeal of this wardrobe classic—and this moment. But the fragrance’s nose, Jean-Claude Delville of Drom, also looked to other iconic blues as inspiration: a wide-open blue sky and the vastness of the deep, blue sea. Mix that airy expansiveness with other outdoorsy accords of dry desert air, driftwood and water, as well as green vetiver, sage, and musk and ta da. You have a warm, sexy scent befitting a worn-in shirt and jeans or a slim tailored suit.

Now, when she indulges in a crazy-expensive bottle of fragrance, she can do so guilt-free. Well almost. It’s all in the name of research after all.
