VICTOR&ROLF SPICEBOMB FOR MEN
Viktor&Rolf define their new men’s Spicebomb fragrance as “a cocktail of virility, crafted with refinement.” Who, we ask, can resist that?
Indeed, the spritz, intended as the male counterpart to the brand’s blockbuster female fragrance Flowerbomb, is a combination of unlikely opposites: zesty grapefruit, bergamot and pink pepper open the scent; while a heart of chilli and saffron evolves to a rich, sultry base of tobacco, leather and vetiver. Sexy and supremely wearable.
“While Flowerbomb is an explosion of flowers, Spicebomb is a combustion of spices made up of strong olfactory contrasts,” says perfumer Olivier Polge, who also concocted Flowerbomb in 2005. “Sharp and radiant, spices play the leading role here; they shake up, disrupt and bring out the other rounder and more enveloping facets, with their lively and biting accents, whether fiery or icy,” Polge says.
With Spicebomb’s grenade-shaped bottle, the designers create the visual metaphor of the scent’s explosive character.
