Chris Pine named new face of Armani Code
By Tara-Kay Palermo
Chris Pine, the handsome blue-eyed actor who played James T. Kirk in the 2009 remake of Star Trek and who can now be seen on the silver screen as Jack Ryan in the new Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit action thriller, has got a new gig.
The 33-year-old American was just named the new face of Giorgio Armani’s Armani Code for Men scent. The new campaign debuts this spring.
“Chris Pine perfectly embodies the spirit of the brand, thanks to the strong charisma and his natural elegance,” said Giorgio Armani in the official news release. “Besides revealing great talent, high versatility and the right amount of irony on set, his magnetic charm makes him the ideal match for this fragrance.”
Pine will adopt the role of Armani ambassador taking the torch from past representatives, models Domenique Melchior and Chris Folz.
The campaign will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Armani Code label although it debuted as Armani Code Black before becoming the simplier “Code” the following year.
The spritz, a masculine oriental in nature, is spicy and rich with an original heart of olive flower. The designer values the scent as elegant and understated and came inspired by the “satin lapels of an Armani tuxedo.”
