Miu Miu marries with Coty
By Deborah Fulsang
Miuccia Prada has always played with the unexpected with her Miu Miu brand: from trompe l’oeil patterns to oversized, doll-like accessories that somehow manage to look artful and chic even though they look channeled from a 9-year-old’s vision of Fashion with a capital F.
Not surprising then that the Prada Group has signed on, not with Puig, who holds the licence for the Prada brand’s scent and skincare product development, but with fragrance powerhouse Coty to develop perfumes for the banner, according to reports from Women’s Wear Daily.
According to the trade journal, the first Miu Miu spritz is slated to launch in 2015.
Patrizio Bertelli, chief executive officer of Prada Group, and husband to Prada designer Miuccia Prada, told WWD that “Miu Miu’s fragrance will embody the brand’s spirit and DNA through a style that is not only sophisticated and sensual, but also cutting-edge and trendsetting.”
We would, of course, expect nothing less.
