Perfume by the numbers: 15,000 jasmine blooms

15,000: That’s the number of flowers in one kilogram of jasmine sambac, say the perfumers who have mixed the grand bloom into the new Killer Queen fragrance by Katy Perry. Those 15,000 blossoms will be processed to produce just 6 grams of jasmine absolute. How’s that for an ingredient fit for a queen?
