Cate Blanchett for Giorgio Armani Sì

Australian-born actress Cate Blanchett is set to front the new Giorgio Armani fragrance, Sì, due in stores for the fall 2013 season. A long-standing fan and supporter of the brand having worn Armani to various red carpet events, Blanchett was a natural choice as a rep for the fragrance, which, according to Armani himself is meant to be a “tribute to modern femininity—an irresistible combination of grace, strength and independence of spirit.”

Blanchett certainly fills that bill: the Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated actor’s film CV is long and praise-worthy. She starred as Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and as the beautifully ethereal elf Galadriel in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie franchises (not to mention her other notable performances in The Talented Mr. Ripley and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). The internationally acclaimed actress also has four feature film releases in 2013 and two more scheduled for 2014.

While we don’t know the perfume details of Armani’s new Si, one can be confident that this star-power personality will surely help capture the fragrance-loving audience’s attention once it hits store shelves.
