SEXIEST MEN’S SCENTS FOR FATHER’S DAY (PART 4 OF 5)

SEXIEST MEN’S SCENTS FOR FATHER’S DAY (PART 4 OF 5)

By Deborah Fulsang

In our pursuit of a master list of sexiest-all-time men’s scents, we reached out to Toronto-based beauty editor Adriana Ermter for her make-me-swoon list. Her top-three masculine fragrances speak to the irresistible and timeless appeal of dark sensual wood notes in combination with a splash of citrus, aromatics or florals—or all of the above.

ADRIANA ERMTER, BEAUTY EDITOR
Dior Fahrenheit. “I seem to have a leaning towards ’80s perfumes and Fahrenheit is no exception. It’s got all of the sexy, animalic components: leather, musk, and patchouli, but then it also throws soothing lavender and cedar into the mix; warm and spicy sandalwood and carnation; and wrap-your-arms-around-me violet leaf and jasmine. It’s chewy and primal and lusty. Love it.” EDT, $88 (100 ml), www.thebay.com

Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy Men. “The name pretty much states the case for the scent. It’s the perfect date-night perfume—you just want to nuzzle into its spicy, powdery, woodsy goodness. I think it’s the zesty touch of mandarin orange and bergamot that starts my engine.” $96 (100 ml), www.sephora.com

Le Labo Santal 33. “Again, I seem to have a thing for the leathery, woodsy, animalic scents. This one has an intimate skin-on-skin quality that I can’t quite explain. Maybe it’s the combination of violet, musk and amber that make it completely sensual. I know you wanted men’s fragrances, but I wear this one (sometimes with a spray of something floral) when I’m feeling particularly centred or when I want to ooze a little come-hither vibe.”

Her long-held love of fragrance led her to launch The Whale & The Rose, a destination for all things perfume-related. Now, when she indulges in a crazy-expensive bottle of fragrance, she can do so guilt-free. Well almost. It’s all in the name of research after all.
