A star-studded Chanel party to launch Gabrielle

A Chanel party is like no other. And when you’re celebrating the launch of a brand new perfume, celebrities like Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Kristen Stewart show up.

On Tuesday, July 4, the brand finally revealed its new fragrance at a Chanel party and private reception. The perfume, Gabrielle Chanel, won’t be launched to the public until September, so for now, we’ll have to bask in the party pictures and perfume descriptions. Here’s what we know.

The party took place at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and is part of Chanel’s year-long celebration of everything Coco. This has also included the launch of a new bag, also called Gabrielle. The party itself was a luxe event, attended by the aforementioned Perry, Williams and (face of the fragrance) Stewart, as well as Cara Delevingne, Caroline de Maigret, Ines de la Fressange, Zhou Xun, Liu Wen and Karl Lagerfeld among others.

The fragrance itself was created by Olivier Polge and is describes as a luminous solar scent. The notes include ylang ylang, orange blossom, jasmine and tuberose, so we imagine this new Chanel perfume is a grown-up floral that will be an instant hit.

Until September rolls around, satisfy yourself with some images and a video of the Chanel party.
