Kit Harington is the new face of Dolce & Gabbana

English actor Kit Harington is joining the beauty world as the new face of Dolce & Gabbana The One perfume.

You probably recognize Kit Harington from his breakout role as Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones. He was nominated for the role at the 2016 Emmys and created a stir last year when it was revealed he is dating his co-star Rose Leslie. Next up in movies, he is slated to appear in Xavier Dolan’s 2018 film, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, about a scandal surrounding a rising actor, alongside actors Susan Sarandon and Natalie Portman.

The D&G campaign

But first, in September of 2017, he’ll be gracing advertisements as the new Dolce & Gabbana man. Following in the footsteps of Matthew McConaughey, Harington will be fronting the brand’s The One For Men pillar. We expect the brand will continue with its classic and polished ad campaign, by portraying Harington as the modern and classic masculine ideal. Think well fitting suits, undone dress shirts and sleek oiled hair—very Italian.

The fragrance itself is woody and oriental. Notes of amber, grapefruit, coriander, orange blossom, ginger and tobacco make up this classically masculine scent. It was released in 2008 to accompany the woman’s scent of the same name (which has Scarlett Johansson as its muse).

“Kit Harington is exactly how we see the Dolce & Gabbana man,” say  Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, “young, naturally charming, charismatic, with a personality rich in traits.”

It will be nice to see Harington ditch his GOTs layers for a sleek and classic suit, no?
