Perfume launches to start off the new year

New year, new perfume. Here are a few perfume launches you should know about for January.

Whether you’re looking for a scented escape from the cold and grey winter—or your style is to lean into cozy winter vibes—there’s a fragrance launching this month you’ll love.

Ralph Lauren Polo Cashmere

Just what the winter months need—a beautiful cashmere to warm us up. Get your dose of this luxe fabric with the latest eau from Ralph Lauren Polo. Notes of bergamot and cardamom mingle with orris, incense, cashmeran and myrrh for what sounds like a hazy, heady fragrance. We imagine it pairs just as well with a cup of Earl Grey as it does with a snifter of brandy. Sort of like a classic cashmere sweater. $195 (125 ml), www.holtrenfrew.com

Atelier Cologne Clementine California

Leave it to Paris-based fragrance house Atelier Cologne to give us a bit of sunshine during the coldest days of the year. The brand’s latest, Clementine California, is a warm blend of clementine, mandarin and juniper berries paired with star anise, vetiver, sandalwood and cypress. The perfect antidote to chilled-to-the-bone temperatures. $140 (100 ml), www.sephora.com

Durga by D.S. & Durga

This indie perfume brand is starting off 2017 by launching Durga, a flower powerhouse of a scent. Notes of tuberose, chrysanthemum, ylang ylang, orange blossom, and jasmine mingle with melon orris and musk for an intoxicating perfume. $350 (50 ml), www.dsanddurga.com
