On this day of Canadian Thanksgiving, we contemplate this perfumed…
Perfume illustrations by French designer Coco
Romantic, dramatic, intimate: These drawings remind us of the intimate relationship many of us have with our fragrances.
Coco, a french designer and graphic artist combines strong, sharp images with a touch of softness and whimsy, usually in the form of botanicals in watercolour. She has published work with a number of notable brands (Rochas, Cutler and Gross) and publications (Vogue, Nylon), but it is her recent work for the retail store Lane Crawford that piqued our interest.
The artwork, featuring women and flowers draped around bottles of perfume, are simple but stunning. And the details—the coffee bean for Black Opium, the rose for J’Adore—are thoughtful. The women themselves suit the perfumes they drape themselves across: One with a chic haircut and a red lip cozies up to Shalimar; one with sleek hair and a bold makeup look embodies Alien.
Romantic and elegant, they take the bottle as inspiration and illustrate the deep personal connection so many of us have with our go-to spritz.
