Under-$50 Friday: Roger&Gallet Fleur d’Osmanthus

Colognes, eaux fraiches, fragrant waters: however you name them, these lighthearted spritzes are tailormade for this hot and sunshiny season. Case in point: Roger & Gallet’s new Fleur d’Osmanthus.

The mood-boosting natural spray centres on a heart of grapefruit and its namesake Osmanthus, which is a shrub grown in Asia and renowned for its delicate apricot-tinted white flowers that smell “somewhere between juicy apricot flesh and silky peach skin,” says perfumer Nathalie Lorson.

Mandarin and orange zest deliver an upbeat first impression, while at the base, the warmth of sandalwood and musk makes this spritz fitting for a summer’s eve too—it’s also a floral a man could wear nicely.

All in all, a nice way to start a July weekend.

Her long-held love of fragrance led her to launch The Whale & The Rose, a destination for all things perfume-related. Now, when she indulges in a crazy-expensive bottle of fragrance, she can do so guilt-free. Well almost. It’s all in the name of research after all.
