Jet-set perfume with model Kate Bock
Adriana Ermter talks with the Vancouver-born fashion model about the perfect travel perfume and finding paradise in Brazil.
The Job
This Vancouver-born model has posed for international magazines such as Sports Illustrated and GQ and for national retailers the likes of Hudson’s Bay. Her favourite part: “I get to travel all over world, see the most beautiful locations, meet new people and call it all work.”
The Travel
On average, Bock—now based in New York—says she’s packing her bags, boarding pass in hand, “once a week.” Naturally, she’s been there done that, flying everywhere from Turks and Caicos to Bermuda and Sardinia, Hawaii to St. Barths, San Francisco to Park City, Utah.
The Standout
“I went to Brazil for my first time, this year,” says Bock. “We stayed in a hotel made up of luxury tree forts in a small town in Bahia. The food, the colours, the people, the place … it was the ultimate. A stunning vacation spot!”
The Perfume
Bock has been known to toss miniature-size roller bottles of KAI fragrance in her bag. “My scent smells like fresh jasmine. I’ve always loved the scent and the feeling of smelling fresh and clean.” She’s also particularly drawn to what others are wearing. “I have a good friend who wears Narciso Rodriguez,” says Bock. “Anytime I meet someone new who is wearing this scent, I always notice and like them immediately.”

The Moment
“My grandma was visiting over the holidays and every time I hugged her she told me how good I smelled,” says Bock. “I think it made me love my fragrance 100 times more!”
Bock joins Jenny Bird, Laurie Jennings, Jaime Maser and Erin Kleinberg as part of our “Jet-Set Fragrance” series.
