April’s fragrance launches are sugary sweet
By Alexandra Donaldson
The sweetness of our impending spring is made even more delicious with several fragrance launches this month, each a candy-coated gourmand to sate your scent-loving sweet tooth.
CANDIED CRUSH
Nina Ricci’s Les Délices de Nina arrived on our desks accompanied by signature candies—we were immediately fans. Citrusy top notes—lemon and tangerine—are sweetened with a strawberry-candy accord and white caramel heart, and finished with a touch of praline. Fun, lighthearted and oh-so-sweet, this scent will have us sating our sugar-loving sweet tooth all spring long.Nina Ricci Les Delices de Nina, $86 (75 ml), www.ninaricci.com
HOW SWEET IT IS
Fresh, sparkling sweetness by Thierry Mugler’s Angel Eau Sucreée make for an indulgent spritz. Notes of red fruit sorbet and caramelized meringue give this gourmand scent its sugary identity (note: this is essentially a reissue of last year’s Eau Sucre but in a darker, more crystalline-coated flacon), while patchouli and vanilla keep the fragrance from becoming too syrupy. This is a limited edition and we think, just like dessert, it will disappear in an instant.

DARKLY INDULGENT
Praline defines the sweet note in Lancome’s Nuit Trésor and its character is amplified via a perfume overdose. This scent is easily the darkest of our sweet trio of releases with rose, lychee accord, patchouli, papyrus and vanilla Tahitensis Orchid tempering the olfactory mix of this dark, decadent spritz.
